Our Process at a Glance
Pollen is mixed into a suspension using de-ionised water in specially designed mixing vessels.
The suspension of pollen is transferred from the mixing vessel.
The pollen reservoir is pressurised and an air curtain blower is started ready for pollen application.
Four wheeled motorbikes are then driven at set speeds under each row of kiwifruit canopy.
Applying pollen to flowers in a wet spray form has a direct positive effect on our productivity and helps us achieve top 10% industry OGR’s on our production blocks. It becomes especially important on our younger developing blocks where male vines are not yet fully developed, and it has the added bonus of achieving great pollination in wet weather when bee pollination is compromised.
Southern Cross Horticulture uses All Terrain Pollination on around 46 high producing hectares of Zespri Sungold Kiwifruit.

I am writing to let you know that I am absolutely delighted with the pollination in the Blocks that you have done. After two years of trial I have now got a direct comparison and without a doubt, your wet pollen application is the best! Please book me in for next year! I have my family orchards that I would like to book in also.
